Report: Pistons and Ish Smith Agree to Three-Year Deal
The Detroit Pistons have striked quickly in free agency. On the first day in which teams can contact players, the Pistons have reportedly come to an agreement with Ish Smith.
Smith is a 6’0 speedy point guard. At, 27, Smith is still in the prime of his career. Last season Smith averaged 14.7 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds per game with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Detroit was desperate for a backup point guard after dealing with Steve Blake last season, and they have secured themselves with a good backup option. He is a good passer, and can take the ball to the basket. The biggest knock on Smith is three-point shooting. He shot 33% from three last year in Philly.
The money involved in the deal has not been reported.

According to Keith Pompey, who covers the 76ers for multiple outlets in Philly, the deal for Ish Smith is for three years and $18 million.
Smith will earn around $6 million annually.
