Notable Games for the Upcoming Pistons Season
The NBA has released the schedule for the upcoming season. Looking at it, there are several big games that immediately catch the eye. Here are just a few of the key games you can look forward to next year.
Detroit opens the year on October 26th in Canada as they travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors. This will be a good opening test for the Pistons with Toronto fresh off their trip to the eastern conference finals. They then go to Orlando, a team I believe will be fighting for a playoff spot next year, before returning to the motor city. Detroit’s home opener will be October 30th against the Bucks.
November 7th start the first long road trip where they will play in seven different cities in 11 days, including games vs the Clippers, Thunder, Spurs, and Cavs. They day following this long road trip (November 19th) Detroit returns home to face Boston, Houston, Miami and the Clippers in a four game home stand.
We then jump ahead to late December where Pistons fans will be having a very merry Christmas. On December 23rd Detroit will play host to the 2014 champions, the Golden State Warriors. Three days later, they will host the defending champions, Cleveland. These are the best two teams in the NBA and at this point in the season it will be a great measuring stick.
In January the Pistons will be getting some national exposer with four prime time games. On the 12th they play in Golden State with the game airing on TNT. The next night Detroit will play in Utah on ESPN. Later that week the Pistons will have the ESPN spot light again; this time at home vs the Hawks. Finally the team will end the month with a TNT match up in Boston.
March looks to be a month that’s full of good games for Detroit. They play Chicago twice, Cleveland twice, New York twice, Toronto, Indiana, Utah, Miami and Orlando. All of these teams, most of whom are in the east, are expected to be fighting for a playoff spot. This will be both very entertaining and a good test for the Pistons who will be looking to round into playoff form at this point.
