Game Preview: Pistons Look to Extend Winning Streak Versus Bucks
The Detroit Pistons(2-2) play the Milwaukee Bucks(2-2) tonight at 7:30pm in their second to last preseason game of the year. Detroit is coming off back to back wins against the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers. Milwaukee lost their previous game to the Chicago Bulls.
Milwaukee’s loss to the Bulls was a bad one. They lead early on in the game, but the Bulls outscored the Bucks 37-7 in the 4th quarter to win the game 107-86. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way for Milwaukee finishing with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jabari Parker, who will need to take the next step in order for the Bucks to this season, scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. He also had four assists. Offseason acquisition, Matthew Dellavedova, finished the game with nine points and eight assists.
Former Piston, Spencer Dinwiddie, who was traded by Detroit this offseason, finished with 7 points and four assists for the Bulls.
Former Piston, Greg Monroe, sat out last game to rest. Shooting guard, Rashad Vaughn, was out as well with a sprained ankle.
Point guard, Michael Carter-Williams, also sat out last game. That same night he was shipped to the Chicago Bulls for forward Tony Snell.
The Detroit Pistons beat up on the Sixers in their last game, beating Philadelphia 97-76. Tobias Harris had 18 points and six rebounds in the win. Ish Smith finished with 10 points, six assists, and no turnovers in 27 minutes. He has not committed a turnover in the last two games for Detroit. Andre Drummond posted a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Forward Marcus Morris, who has missed the last two games, is questionable to play today. Stan Van Gundy has been hopeful Morris would return today. He has been dealing with knee tendonitis. Aron Baynes also sat out last game with back soreness, but he could be back tonight. Reggie Jackson is also out for Detroit, as he recovers from knee tendonitis. Update 12:08PM ET: Stanley Johnson was also announced to be out tonight, as he is dealing with a foot issue. Marcus Morris is also still out.
