It was recently reported today that the Detroit Pistons have requested waivers on forward Nikola Jovanovic. The 6’11 Jobanvic, who was signed on September 26th on a training camp deal, saw the floor only once for the Pistons, which was in their last preseason game against Philadelphia, who didn’t crack the stat sheet in just over three minutes of play.
The Serbian forward played his college ball at USC, where he put up averages of 10.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game throughout his collegiate career. After three seasons with the Trojans, Jovanovic became the 36th player in school history to record 1000 points.
Jovanovic could be looking at a stint in the D-League or possibly get an offer from another team looking to add depth or to just fill a roster spot, only time will tell.
