Game Preview: Pistons Look To Earn First Road Win of the Season In Alamo County

The Pistons have not won a game on the road all season and the Spurs have lost three straight games. Neither team is ready to panic, but both coach Van Gundy and Popovich are viewing tonight’s game as a “must-win”.

All-star Center, Andre Drummond was incredibly frustrated with Wednesday night’s loss to Phoenix.

“We gave the game away,” the big man told the media.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a season-high 27 points and angry Andre Drummond scored 18 points while snagging 14 rebounds.

Detroit will need to contain the Spurs’ versatile bigs, Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge if they would like to snap their 2-game skid Friday night.

Veteran point guard, Tony Parker (right knee soreness) is questionable for tonight’s game.

The Spurs have been labeled relatively weak by the rest of the NBA in regards to their backcourt. If Parker sits tonight, consider it a major blow for Popovich’s team.
Probable Starting Lineups:

Detroit Pistons
PG: Ish Smith
SG: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
SF: Marcus Morris
PF: Tobias Harris
C: Andre Drummond

San Antonio Spurs
PG: Tony Parker (Questionable) OR Patty Mills
SG: Danny Green
SF: Kawhi Leonard
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Pau Gasol

Many Pistons fans have already marked an “L” or “loss” next to this game because it is in fact against a team who is a championship contender. This game has not been decided yet. Considering how poorly the Spurs have played in their recent games, this match-up is one the Pistons’ can take advantage of.
