Last night the Detroit Pistons defeated the Chicago Bulls, 102-91. Tobias Harris led the Pistons in scoring with 22 points while Andre Drummond tallied his fourteenth double-double (15pts, 10reb) of the season. Coach Stan Van Gundy also praised his bench for their effort.
The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a road victory against the lowly Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. Kemba Walker scored 19 points, Nicolas Batum had 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Marco Belinelli led all bench players with 16 points.
Statistically, the Hornets are a middling offensive (107.0 off. rating, 13th of 30) and defensive (104.7 def. rating, 10th of 30) team with a .500 record at home (6-6).
Last week the Pistons destroyed the Hornets even though Drummond was ejected in the second-quarter. Tobias Harris (24pts) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (18pts) picked up the slack offensively while the Pistons defense held the Hornets to 89 points on 39.7% shooting.
However, this will be a very hard game for the Pistons win. Eight players on the Hornets average at least 9.8 points per game. They have a well balanced team backed by the All-Star caliber play of Kemba Walker (23.6pts, 5 ast, 4reb) and Nicolas Batum (13.5pts, 5.7ast, 7.3reb). Former-Wisconsin standout, Frank Kaminsky has filled in well for the injured Marvin Williams, averaging 11.2 points and 4.6 rebounds but Williams is probable to play tomorrow.
