Game Recap: Marcus Morris stays hot, Pistons blowout 76ers 113-96

Tonight, the Detroit Pistons (24-28) blew out the Philadelphia 76ers (18-33) 113-96.

Stan Van Gundy has to be proud of the way his team, specifically the starters, played tonight with seven Pistons scoring in double figures. For the third game in a row, Marcus Morris led the Pistons in scoring with 19 points. Andre Drummond exploited the 76ers’ front court  with a huge double-double, 16 points and 17 rebounds.

As a team, the Pistons shot 46.5% from the field while converting on 16/17 free throws (94.1%). Detroit also outrebounded Philly 60-41. Before the game, trade rumors swirled about the 76ers’ young center, Jahlil Okafor, to the New Orleans Pelicans. Okafor did not lose focus though, leading Philly with 16 points. Outside of Jahlil, most 76ers struggled putting the ball in the bucket. Most notably, the 76ers best player, Joel Embiid, did not play tonight.

The Detroit Pistons have another winnable game this Wednesday at 7:30pm EST, when they take on the young and inexperienced Los Angeles Lakers (18-36).
