After losing to the San Antonio Spurs at home, the Pistons traveled to Toronto with an immense amount of desperation and frustration. The team’s evening in Canada ended up resulting in the Pistons’ most significant win of the season. Toronto led 82-66 at the end of the third quarter, but after a tremendous fourth quarter effort from Detroit, the Pistons were able to knock off the Raptors 102-101.
Tobias Harris contributed in a huge way off the bench with 24 points. Reggie Jackson struggled tremendously and was benched for Ish Smith most of the second half.
The craziness unfolded when the Pistons were down two points with roughly 15 seconds left and Ish Smith dished a pass to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who hit a game winning corner three point shot.
Andre Drummond was a force tonight as he corralled 18 rebounds and scored several clutch put-backs late in the game.
Detroit improves to (26-29) on the year and are now tied with the Bulls for the seventh seed in the eastern conference playoffs. The Pistons will play at Milwaukee (23-30) Monday night.
