Today the Detroit Pistons defeated the shorthanded Phoenix Suns 112-95.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Pistons with a game-high 23 points and 8 assists. Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Off the bench, Aron Baynes collected a career-high 17 rebounds along with 13 points.
As a team, the Pistons shot 43% from the field and 48% from downtown. The Pistons also grabbed 63 rebounds while collecting 26 assists.
Overall, the Pistons finally picked it up in the 4th quarter, scoring 35 points, to pull away from the “D-League” Suns. The Suns are determined to lose as many games as possible from here on out and the Pistons took advantage. Phoenix sat most of their starters.
Tyler Ulis led the Suns with 17 points and 11 assists. Marquese Chriss scored 16 points and T.J. Warren scored 15 points.
Stan Van Gundy’s crew will fly to Brooklyn to face another lottery bound team, the Nets on Tuesday night at 7:30pm EST.
