Game Recap: Pistons lose fourth straight, fall to Knicks 109-95

Tonight the Detroit Pistons (35-40) hit rock bottom, losing to the New York Knicks (28-46) 109-95. Most interestingly, after the game coach Stan Van Gundy hinted Reggie Jackson may be shut down for the rest of the season:

Twenty minutes before tipoff tonight, SVG announced Reggie Jackson would be sat tonight for “rest” thus forcing Ish Smith into the lineup. SVG commented further on this development:

On the floor, the Pistons were simply embarrassed by the Knicks. Kristaps Porzingis dominated by scoring 25 points while Carmelo Anthony fought early foul trouble to still pour in 21 points. For Detroit, Marcus Morris led with 20 points and Ish Smith scored 15 while dishing 5 assists with 6 rebounds. Andre Drummond collected an underwhelming double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Optimistically, the Pistons are still only 1 1/2 games out of the final playoff spot. Pistons will need to bounce back quickly in order to keep this teams playoffs hopes alive. Andre Drummond believe his team can do so:

Tomorrow night the Pistons face the Miami Heat (35-38) in a must win game to stay in the playoff race.
