Game Recap: Shorthanded Pistons fall to Heat 111-104

Tonight a shorthanded Pistons team lost to the Miami Heat 111-104. The Heat were on fire from downtown was they hit 17 three-pointers at a 50% (17-34) clip.

The Pistons were without Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond, Stanley Johnson and Jon Leuer but still managed to put up a fight. Offensively, Coach Stan Van Gundy’s “Island of Misfit Toys” did well:

Unfortunately, they struggled mightily on the defensive side of the court. Avery Bradley returned to action tonight but he clearly showed some rust. Bradley shot 6 of 19 from the floor and finished with a +/- of -21.

For the Heat, Kelly Olynyk led the team with 25 points while Goran Dragic added 24 with 13 assists. Josh Richardson also scored 22 points. Off the bench, James Johnson added 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting while collecting 4 rebounds.

The Pistons will look to bounce back against the young Philadelphia 76ers Friday at the Wells Fargo Center at 7pm EST / 4pm PST.
