The Philadelphia 76ers took the Detroit Pistons to school, winning the game 114-78. The Pistons will move to 20-17 and the 76ers will move to 19-19.
Tobias Harris led the Pistons in scoring with 14 points on 5-12 shooting. Andre Drummond had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Pistons only led once in this game, at the beginning of the first quarter. The Pistons shot 38 percent from the field, and 31 percent from beyond the arc. The Pistons were out rebounded by 34-55.
Joel Embiid led the 76ers in scoring with 23 points, on 56 percent shooting, and 9 rebounds. JJ Redick had 21 points in 24 minutes, and Ben Simmons had 19 points and 9 assists. The 76ers led by as much as 40 points in this game, and didn’t trail after the opening minutes of the game. The 76ers shot 49 percent from the field, and 47 percent from beyond the arc.
The Pistons got absolutely thrashed and embarrassed throughout this whole game. The game was never competitive, and the 76ers made easy work of the Pistons. The Pistons haven’t looked very good with Reggie Jackson, suggesting that maybe a transaction of some kind should be in the Pistons future. Stan Van Gundy has to find a way to get this team mentally past this game and ready for tomorrow’s game against the Rockets.
The Pistons play the Rockets tomorrow at 7:00 PM at Little Caesars Arena. The 76ers don’t play again until Thursday against the Celtics at 3:00 PM.
