The Detroit Pistons have guaranteed the contract of center Eric Moreland for the rest of the season, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.
Moreland signed a three-year deal with Detroit in the offseason after an impressive Summer League stint with the Pistons.
He has handled the backup center duties for Detroit behind Andre Drummond, and even made his first start of the season last night against the Houston Rockets, when the Pistons won, 108-101. He finished the game with eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.
Moreland’s contract is riddled with trigger dates for his contract, throughout the remaining two years following the end of this season. While that will remain on his mind, he can relax just a little bit knowing his contract is guaranteed for the rest of this year.
