According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Detroit Pistons are interested in acquiring Nikola Mirotic from the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls could move Mirotic to the Utah Jazz, a team he is intrigued by. He is expected to be moved when he becomes trade-eligible on January 15th.
The Bulls are looking for draft compensation.
The Pistons own their own first-round pick in this year’s upcoming draft on June 21st.
Mirotic has played in 17 games this year. In those 17 appearances, he has averaged 17.4 points and seven rebounds a game while shooting 46.5 percent from the three-point line.
He signed a two-year $27 million contract extension with the Bulls in the offseason. The second year of the deal is a team option.
