Game Recap: Pistons fall against Hornets 118 – 107.

The Detroit Pistons let the game get away in the second half on their way to falling to 22-20 on the season, losing by 11 points at home to the Hornets.

The Pistons got contributions from several different places as both Tobias Harris and Reggie Bullock scored 20 points and Ish Smith right behind them with 19 and Anthony Tolliver pouring in 17 off the bench. The problem in the end was a combination of bad defense and Andre Drummond being outplayed. The Hornets scored 68 points in the second half and Drummond finished with just 3 points and 10 rebounds. (Drummond did have 5 assists for what its worth.)

The Hornets got going in the second half largely by finding Dwight Howard open in the paint time and time again on his way to a 21 point, 17 rebound effort while Marvin Williams scored 21 and Kemba Walker scored 20.

The game was looking to be totally out of hand as the 4th quarter wound down before the Pistons made a little run to get it within 10, but the Hornets didn’t let them get closer and there just wasn’t enough time for the Pistons to do more than make it a little bit interesting down the stretch.

The Pistons fall to 22-20 with a trip to Toronto on Wednesday to face the surging Raptors. Following that they will host the Wizards which will mean a real chance the Pistons could fall to .500 unless they can steal one of the next two.
