Reggie Jackson had his best game since returning from injury with 20 points and three assists. Blake Griffin was held in check with the help of foul trouble which pushed Andre Drummond into some extra duty and he answered the call with 15 points, 18 rebounds, and some brilliant defense down the stretch of the game.
The Lakers were led by Julius Randle who finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished with 13 points on 17 shots in a fitting return to Detroit.
The Pistons will have two days off before hosting the Washington Wizards on Thursday, while the Lakers will have one day off before hosting the Dallas Mavericks.
