Before the Detroit Pistons finished their disappointing season a few weeks ago, owner Tom Gores announced he would be meeting with Stan Van Gundy in the coming weeks to decide on Van Gundy’s future with the club. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that their meeting will take place next week after it had been pushed back from late this week.
The Pistons finished the season with a 39-43 record, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season. As Woj relays in his report, Van Gundy is hopeful to return for the final year of his contract in hopes to win with a healthy Reggie Jackson and a full season of Blake Griffin alongside Andre Drummond.
With the meeting looming, the Pistons franchise could be changed significantly within a week or remain the very same way that it is right now.
