There is finally news to report on the Tom Gores/Stan Van Gundy front. After meeting over a week ago to discuss Van Gundy’s future with the team, a decision is yet to officially be made.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Gores wants Van Gundy to remain as the head coach of the team, but also wants to shake up the front office.
Van Gundy, who is also the president of basketball operations, does not want to lose his role in as the man who makes the roster decisions.
As president of basketball operations and coach, Van Gundy has had full authority on player personnel and staffing — but Gores has suggested changes that, so far, Van Gundy is resisting, league sources said.
Wojnarowski also reports that a meeting between Gores and general manager, Jeff Bower, is scheduled for later this week.
