In an announcement by the law firm Ben Crump Law, it was announced the mother is suing the NBA, Detroit Pistons, SSJ Group, ownership of the Grand Rapids Drive, and the Deltaplex Arena. Jewel Upshaw is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against said parties.
