The Detroit Pistons will interview former NBA player and current TNT analyst Kenny Smith for their vacant head coaching job, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo.
Smith, 53, played 10 years in the NBA, before retiring following the 1996-1997 season. He played nine games with the Pistons in the 1996-1997 year.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported today that the Pistons hired Bernie Bickerstaff and Jim Lynam to help consult newly signed advisor Ed Stefanski in the general manager and coaching search.
Vincent Goodwill adds that the two sides spoke prior to the NBA Combine a few weeks back.
