Game Recap: Pistons drop heartbreaker in overtime

Tonight the Detroit Pistons (4-5) lost a heartbreaker in overtime to the Miami Heat (4-5), 120-115 and the Pistons have now lost five straight games.

For the Pistons, Glen Robinson III had a chance to win the game after Reggie Jackson got him a wide open three-pointer in the corner but he missed the uncontested shot. It’s unfortunate for Robinson because he did have a great game starting in place for Stanley Johnson. Robinson finished with 16 points on six of twelve shooting from the floor including two three-pointers.

The Pistons were without Blake Griffin for overtime as he fouled out in late in the fourth quarter. Griffin had another great game, scoring 24 points along with 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Andre Drummond posted another huge double-double with 25 points and 24 rebounds. Reggie Jackson led the Pistons in scoring with 25 points.

Off the bench, Langston Galloway was red hot, hitting four three-pointers on his way to a season-high 21 points. Overall, Detroit struggled again to hit shots, shooting only 41.3 percent from the field and an abysmal 31.4 percent from behind the arc. The Pistons also turned the ball over 20 times.

For the Heat, Josh Richardson showed why he will one day be an all-star in this league. Richardson finished with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Goran Dragic did his typical damage against Detroit scoring 21 points with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Dwayne Wade turned back the clock scoring 18 points off the bench.

The Pistons will fly to Florida to face the struggling Orlando Magic (4-6) on Wednesday at 4pm ET / 7pm PT.
