The Detroit Pistons will be without their All-Star forward, Blake Griffin, for Game 1 of their playoff matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, Dwane Casey said prior to the game. Griffin has been nursing a left knee injury since the past few weeks of the regular season.
Casey said the knee was too sore for him to be able to go.
He appeared in just three of Detroit’s last seven games of the season.
Thon Maker will likely start in Griffin’s absence, as he did during the regular season. Glenn Robinson III, who joined The Palace of Pistons Podcast on Friday, is also likely to absorb some of the minutes created by Griffin’s absence.
Game 1 versus the Bucks begins at 7:00pm. Milwaukee is nursing injuries of their own in Malcolm Brogdon and Tony Snell, but will gain reinforcements in the form of Nikola Mirotic. He will return to play limited minutes tonight.
