Shams Charania of The Athletic reports Detroit Pistons’ Guard Derrick Rose will be dropping out of the Skills Challenge, taking place next weekend in Chicago, IL

Pistons guard Derrick Rose plans to drop out of the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star weekend in hometown of Chicago, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Rose may be dropping out of the contest for a few reasons, but the most logical being Rose’s injury issues may keep him out past All-Star Weekend. Rose missed Monday’s game due to a groin injury, and is slated to miss Wednesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

Wednesday’s game against the Suns will be the Pistons’ final game before the February 6th trade deadline.
