According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, there is growing chance that Andre Drummond will remain a Piston past today’s trade deadline.
It appears Detroit was unable to find an offer to their liking as talks were dragged out.
The 26-year-old center has spent his entire professional career in Detroit and is having one of the best seasons of his career. With rumors swirling regarding his upcoming option for the 2020-21 season, the Pistons had openly shopped their two time All-Star. However, it appears the Pistons have been stout in negotiations for not just Drummond, but also Derrick Rose and Markieff Morris.
With just over four hours until the trade deadline, Detroit appears content to hold what they have. It remains to be seen as to whether Drummond will opt-in to his contract $28.7 million option at the end of the season. A verbal commitment to either a yes or a no may sway a potential deal.
