New general manager of the Detroit Pistons, Troy Weaver, will not be extending the contract of assistant general manager, Pat Garrity, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Garrity was promoted to his role as an assistant general manager in 2016. Before his tenure as an assistant GM, he served as the franchise’s Director of Strategic Planning.

He played 10 seasons in the NBA before retiring following the 2007-2008 season.

This is Weaver’s first move in terms of building his front office team. Wojnarowski has not reported yet as to who or if Weaver will replace Garrity with, but Detroit has now lost two of their assistant GMs this offseason. Malik Rose departed from the franchise in June to take an executive position with the league. His move came after Weaver was hired by Ed Stefanski and Tom Gores. They currently do not have an assistant GM in the front office.
