According to James Edwards III of The Athletic, the Pistons have made Diallo & Jackson restricted free agents.
It’s unclear whether or not Saben Lee will also become a restricted free agent at this time, as Detroit has 3 days until the draft and a week to figure out their plan to attack free agency.
Diallo came over in a trade from Oklahoma City as a part of Troy Weaver’s master plan: trading away Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2nd round pick to acquire the young forward, who seems to be here for the future. A springy, spark-plug type player, Diallo fit in perfectly with the young Pistons during his first season in Detroit.
Jackson was a midseason acquisition, as the Pistons kept their second two-way slot open. Jackson made the transition from lead initiator at his previous stops to a sharpshooting two-guard in Detroit, putting up several performances of over 20 points.
