Pistons start off their free agency with signing big man Kelly Olynyk to a two year deal plus a team option worth $37M.
Olynyk seemed to have a resurgence in his 27 game stint with the Houston Rockets last season. After trading Mason Plumlee and the 37th overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA draft, Detroit had a hole at their back up big man position. Olynyk is expected to slide in as the back up center behind 2nd team all rookie Isaiah Stewart.
This is early in the free agency period and Detroit is expected to still expected to make moves, including signing a back up guard. Stay with Palace of Pistons to stay up to date with all Detroit Piston moves.
