The league office of the NBA announced this evening that Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended for two games and LeBron James one game following an on-court altercation between the two players during the Pistons and Lakers game on Sunday night.

The altercation began after James hit Stewart in the face while boxing out during the third quarter of the game.

James was called for a flagrant two foul, ejecting him from the game. Stewart was ejected for the chaos that ensued after the play.

Both of these players will have served their suspension in time to be active for when the two teams play in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Stewart will miss Detroit’s back-to-back against the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks before Thanksgiving, while James will miss Los Angeles’ nationally televised game against the Knicks in New York.

The Pistons, who announced earlier today that the team will be without Killian Hayes for the back-to-back are already seriously shorthanded, so the loss of Stewart is quite the blow for a team that was already incredibly thin.

The Lakers went on to win the game following the ejections of the two players on Sunday, coming back from a significant deficit.
