After weeks of speculation, the Detroit Pistons have their choice in the 2022 NBA Draft. Troy Weaver and the Pistons selected Purdue guard Jaden Ivey with the fifth-overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, pairing him in the backcourt with last year’s top pick Cade Cunningham.

Ivey fits well with Cunningham in the backcourt, especially as a downhill threat. We have a full scouting report in Ivey and his fit in Detroit, which you can find here.

The Pistons are reportedly looking to get back into the lottery, and may have some interest in doing so by taking on the bad contract on Gordon Hayward.
