With the 36th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Detroit Pistons have selected Gabriele Procida, a wing for Fortitudo Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A.

Procida averaged 6.9 points and three rebounds in 18 minutes per game with Fortitudo Bologna.

James Edwards III of The Athletic reports that Procida will likely be a draft-and-stash, and remain playing overseas for the time being.

Procida is a 6’7, 20-year-old with offensive upside as a shooter and slasher. He shot 38% from the 3-point line on 2.3 attempts per game.

Detroit acquired the rights to this pick as part of the Jerami Grant trade on Wednesday. Although they will still technically pick 46th on Thursday night, the Portland Trail Blazers will be telling Detroit who to select, as that player will eventually be headed to the Blazers.

It’s anticipated that after the selection of Procida, Detroit’s draft night moves are finished. Procida joins a Detroit draft class with Jaden Ivey, the fifth pick, and Jalen Duren, the 13th pick acquired from the New York Knicks.
