The first free agency move for the Pistons is retaining backup center Marvin Bagley on a $37 Million three-year deal. It was well known that Detroit was fully planning on retaining Marvin after acquiring him from the Kings last trade deadline. Bagley seemed to be reinvigorated after the trade and looks to continue that progress on a new deal. In his time with the Pistons last year Bagley averaged 14.6 FG, and 6.8 RBs after only averaging 9.3 points with limited minutes on the Kings earlier in the season.

Marvin rejoins a big man room with 18-year rookie Jalen Duren, and recently acquired Nerleans Noel. Despite being a returning player, he will still have to show out for minutes on the floor.

Bagley was obtained last season at the deadline in a four-team deal, including the Sacramento Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angles Clippers. The Pistons only sent out Trey Lyles, Josh Jackson, and a handful of second-round picks.
